ABOUT US
One Million Dollar Bills is one of the fundraising arms of the nonprofit organization, The Short Film Awards Foundation. Each year, a CAUSE to conquer will be chosen. A fundraising campaign will be started to seek one million people to donate one dollar bill towards conquering the chosen cause.
Of course, you can donate more than one dollar bill, on behalf of others in your household, other family, friends and loved ones. Companies and corporations can also donate a dollar per employee. The choice is yours.
2014-2015 CAUSE
The goal is ONE MILLION DOLLAR BILLS to benefit the research and cure for Breast Cancer.
The chosen organization to receive ALL funds raised is the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
A representative of The Short Film Awards Foundation will participate in the walk in the District of Columbia on May 2nd and 3rd, 2015. However, One Million Dollar Bills will be collecting donations to benefit the Avon Walk through the rest of 2015.
Here are some important FACTS ABOUT BREAST CANCER:
- A woman has a 1 in 8 chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime.
- Every 3 minutes, there is a new diagnosis of invasive breast cancer.
- Approximately 230,480 women and 2,140 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.
- Every 13 minutes, a life is lost to breast cancer.
